I appears that spring arrived early in north Florida. Red bud trees and azaleas are in bloom-and my first sarracenia buds are rising.
Also wanted to share that the first portion of my drosera regia seed (from ICPS seed bank) are in the post cotyledon stage-No damping off.
I was really cautious of damp off after all the accounts I had read. Gave the seedlings morning sun sans plastic-wrap as often as possible and think this helped strengthen them.
Hope to post pictures soon.

Good news on the D. regia seed! Yes, things are waking up here as well. Most Sarracenia are forming flower buds and all forms of D. tracyi and D. filiformis are growing once again! Although a bit too early...IMO. Happy Growing, Brian

I plant to go to northern Florida this spring. What would be the best month for seeing good Sarracenia stands with fresh pitchers and flowers? I am thinking of starting in New Orleans, from there that The Soto forest where there should be plenty of S. alata to be seen Then going east to Alabama for that rich S. leucophylla site west of Perdido. And then Florida. After Florida Okefenokee and the Carolinas for Dionaea. Then the mountains and after that a flight back from Atlanta. In total around 6 weeks.
Welll any tips from local people would be welcome!

It's still darned cold here, winter is stretching out a little longer than usual. Last year at this time we were in a heatwave ( hot for the UK in March anyway).
