The Common Twayblade or Listera ovata grows in a wide range of habitats, from grassland and woodlands on both calcareous and mildly acid soils, to coastal dune slacks, limestone pavements and heathland. The common name probably derives from Old Norse, the modern Swedish name is Två Blad - two leaves. Listera ovata

the french common name is ' listere à feuille ovale' due to their very characteristic leaves
this orchids is dedicated to an English naturalist named LISTER.
may be this genus Listera and the other Neottia ,soon , form just one .
just an other info we can find them from the plain to 2400 m .
