My largest Cephalotus was in a 15cm (6") pot and in desperate need of re-potting, so at the beginning of Spring I moved it into a 23cm (9") pot... The potting medium is approximately (I tend to mix by eye and feel rather than exact ratios); 40% NZ dried Sphagnum moss 40% Perlite 15% Peat 5% Wood charcoal I use deep pots for Cephalotus and water using the tray method. I start with a few centimetres of rainwater in the tray and replenish as soon as it empties. There are a lot of posts on forums that warn against keeping Cephalotus wet using the tray method but I have never experienced any problems with it.
