Hey Everyone!
I'm sure most of you know my Nep. has some issues and it has a wrong soil for it but I ordered the PROPER mix since I can't buy any in the nurseries or stores where I live... I was wondering how often do I water it? My most important question that I need answered is once everyone is settled in there proper mix of soil can I just put my Pitcher plants and Venus Fly Traps in the fridge (after I add them in a bag) or do I have to trigger dormancy? If I do have to trigger it can someone please leave directions to trigger it.

Justin,
Do not put your Nepenthes in a refrigerator!! Nepenthes should grow year round.
Short or long day length will trigger dormancy if and when a plant needs it. If your plants require a dormancy they will stop growing on their own, or produce very weak leaves. Often a period of slightly less than optimal watering is sufficient for a dormancy. Some plant species go dormant in the heat and long days of summer.
It is important to remember that there are several genera (types) of "pitcher plants" - Sarracenia, Heliamphora, Darlingtonia, Nepenthes, Cephalotus, Brocchinia and Catopsis. It will help you greatly to get to know which plants you are growing so you can get proper assistance when you want it.
Take care, Steven Stewart
