Hi, Everyone. Leu Gardens had a plant show and sale this spring, and my wife spotted a nepenthes. We had both never seen anything like it, so we HAD to buy it! Within two weeks I was hooked, buying every CP I could find. So far I've found several sarracenia at a local farmers market; they appear to be "Scarlet Belles", another n.miranda from the same vendor at the farmers market, and two vatities of VFT from Lowes. I'm also trying to germinate some seeds from Dunecraft, an assortment of Sarras, sundews, etc. It will be great to meet other locals (AND non-locals) who share the fascination (read: "MADNESS").
Anyway, Hello, all, Mike

thank you, Brian.
It's funny how misunderstood carnivorous plants are, my daughter had a group of her friends over, and our n.mirandas sit directly over one chair on the patio. No one would sit in the chair once we told them what kind of plant it was. I suspect they thought the plant would reach down and start nibbling on their ears!
Mind you, these weren't kids, these were folks in their twenties. ;D

Welcome to forum. I know what you mean by misunderstanding. Once had e-mail from someone worried if there was any 'dangerous CP to children' in Queensland.

You would think they would notice the child was missing long before it could be completely digested! If Queensland is where I think it is, (Australia) there are many more serious reptiles and spiders lurking around there that could seriously affect the welfare of a child,-or adult, for that matter.

Hello Mike,
Welcome to the forum! If you are in Winter Park you should try to get by the Rollins College Greenhouse. I haven't been there in quite a while, so it would be good to hear from you as to how it looks. I believe Alan Chryst is still their grower, if you manage to get by during one of the work/ school days.
Take care, Steve
