Hehehe....for a little competition with Brian! ;D Predominantly pygmies like this one: Drosera callistosDrosera echinoblastusDrosera sewelliaeA parade of D. sewelliae flowers The last two: Drosera citrinaOnly orange and yellow resp. yellow/white - a bit monotonous...huh? Well, then at last a little purple for some change. Drosera hamiltonii flower from last year - better colour than my recent attempt! Hope, you like them! Andy PS: Brian, photos of the D. spilos flowers are taken - unfortunately it´s the pale coloured variant of this species. Or maybe the intensity of the flower colour depends on the intensity of light? I have to ask for patience because the new film won´t be developed and scanned before end of April or even later.

Hey Andy, Absolutely beautiful flowers! Yes, flower color does depend on light spectrum somewhat. Cloudy conditions create a blueish spectrum, sunny conditions creates more red spectrum... Florescent lights create more blues and regular light bulbs create reds as well... Looking good! ;D Happy Grrrrowing, Brrrrrian. ;D

Don´t forget the spectrum of the sun depends on its position at the sky, too! ;D Also on the altitude where you or other beings are of course. At the zenith the light also contains more blue...the more the sun comes down to the horizon the more red is in the spectrum...at least of what I´ve learnt at my training for photographers. The fluorescent bulbs I use ironically have their highest amplitude in the green light area. Where it´s actually the least effective! It´s light colour 865. However these bulbs are reported to have the best effect on photosynthesis - as they also have the best balance of blue and red radiation (among fluorescent tubes nota bene). Well, I´ve heard a high part of blue radiation causes brighter flower colours and redder radiation supposedly causes more intense flower colours. I´m afraid I´m no expert on this topic. I´ve also heard how certain spectra affect on flowers depends on the species and so on and so on... I think I´ll be most happy when I´ll be able to provide sunlight to my plants. Greetings, Andy
