have you utilised for the flowering induction these artificial methods - by ethylene or acetylene (in particular by locking up in a plastic bag the plant and an apple very ripe during one week ) - by flowering induction hormone
thanks for the answer

Hello Jeff,
You don't say what genus of plants you are wanting to flower, but I have used ethylene on bromeliads with good and bad results. If the plants are flowering size the gas works well, by timing a crop to come into flower at the same time. I have never had what I would consider a large crop of Brocchinia or Catopsis. With 50+ Catopsis berteroniana I produced a large harvest of seeds at one time using ethylene gas. With Brocchinia reducta my only attempt was with a single young plant, the area I had the plant enclosed with a sliced apple in was too humid and the plant quickly rotted. I have used horticultural gibberellin on Nepenthes hybrids and what I believed to be species and hybrids, both to alter gender and or stimulate flowering, with no success. The Nepenthes flowered at the same time of year as previously, and remained the same gender. Some stem internode increase was all I recall noticing.
Have you ever utilized these methods to alter flowering and seed set on any of your plants?
Take care, Steven Stewart

many thanks .
for instant I d'not utilized these method .
I read recently that on the tillandsia which is also a bromeliaceae these method goes well.
I wanted to know if on other genus that also went :for example on the CP: pinguicula ,heliamphora or on 2 other genus not carnivore :the dorstenia and some myrmecophiles
how many time have you leave the plant with the gas ? or the apple ?
I would like to initially this test on pinguicula laueana in a first time ;D

I have used both gas and apple slices. The source I followed recommended 7-10 days. When using apple slices it is important to remember that fungus can spread quickly.
Please let us know your results when you have used Pinguicula! If successful you may help many growers get problem species to flower.
