Hello Friends, Although made with haste, (the flower only stays open about an hour for me each day, for only one day), here's some half-way decent macro shots of a rare form of; Drosera indica, "plants to 30 cm, white flower with blood-red cobra-shaped stamens" Adcock Creek, WA. After a few conversations with Allen Lowrie, this is what he calls the "blush-pink" form of the above mentioned, which has much smaller petals, thus making the stamens appear drastically over-sized. The entire flower is barely 4 millimeters across when fully opened! Note the red glandular appendages on the backs of the newer leaves only. These glands completely disappear as the leaf ages. Also, the plant was obviously hungry on the day of the shoot....much to my delight! Enjoy and stay warm! Brian.

Looks like another potential new species. I wonder if Australian AQIS will allow it be imported into Australia when it rasied to full species status.

Hi Brian, really a very interesting flower. It´s not the biggest but it´s very nice with these red stamens. BTW, very nice macros. Best regards, Dani

Hello Friends, Khoas, I think that most of the forms of Drosera indica are indeed new species just waiting to be cataloged and named. There's so much diversity amongst forms and is indeed a "Pandora's Box" of sorts...much like Byblis. Hi Dani, Thanks for the compliments! Yes, the blood red stamens do kind of make up for the flowers lack of size. I do have a few small "pygmy" sized forms of D. indica (red plants to 4 cm) on the way which should be quite interesting! Happy Growing, Brian.

Hi Brian, i really like these deep red stamens, how big is this plant in fact? Bonsai plants up to 4 cm, sounds also very interesting. Never heard about such small D. indica forms. Seems so that we have to do some exchanges. Best regards, Dani
