Hello Friends,
Although made with haste, (the flower only stays open about an hour for me each day, for only one day), here's some half-way decent macro shots of a rare form of; Drosera indica, "plants to 30 cm, white flower with blood-red cobra-shaped stamens" Adcock Creek, WA.
After a few conversations with Allen Lowrie, this is what he calls the "blush-pink" form of the above mentioned, which has much smaller petals, thus making the stamens appear drastically over-sized. The entire flower is barely 4 millimeters across when fully opened!
Note the red glandular appendages on the backs of the newer leaves only. These glands completely disappear as the leaf ages.
Also, the plant was obviously hungry on the day of the shoot....much to my delight!
