have you a method to prevent the hibernacula rot for these plants ?

Hi Jeff, Keep the soil very dry, watering very lightly on occassion to keep from dying, then let dry again. Good air flow, remove all dead growth as well. Brian

Hi Jeff, I keep them (filiformis and California sunset, but not tracyi which a consider another species) outside all yer round. Never had rot problems and the plants are even invasive. Being wet is not the problem as long as they have a decent airflow.
