Hello Friends, Well, after some extensive selective cross-breeding amongst my Byblis 'Goliath' clones, I've finally reached success! I'm pleased to announce the first documented miniature form of Byblis 'Goliath' aka "BG-C12 X BG short clone C" ; By crossing this short clone variant with "short clone H", I've finally gotten the traits to remain consistant in all resulting seedlings. Photos of the new breed of Byblis "pygmy" seedlings are to follow soon. The seedlings are beginning to max out at one inch tall and will be flowering soon! Now, if these small clones are indeed self-compatable/pollinating like Byblis liniflora, then that will be interesting! More exciting new discoveries to follow, so stay tuned! Happy Growing, Brian.

Brian, Well done! Your miniature Byblis is proof that the size of B. 'Goliath' is truly a giant!! Not so fun for all that thought they understood (and planned to publish descriptions of more species in) this genus! I'm sure that some will dogmatically insist that you simply got some seeds mixed up. I look forward to the future conversations about this new knowledge. Your plants pose many questions to be considered. Definitely attempt to self pollinate a few flowers! Your Byblis makes B. liniflora look large! ;D I look forward to more photos of your plants miniature pulvini. Be certain to document every aspect!! Take care, Steve

Hi Max, Steve and Dani, Thanks! Indeed, the surface has only been scratched... I do plan to document and publish every aspect of this fascinating occurrence, although it may cause a slight unraveling of how the genus Byblis was once viewed taxonomically by it's "forefathers" ;D I do suspect that things will get quite interesting soon... Steve, I'm interested in what your B. 'Goliath' plants end up showing us as well! Also, Dani......have you had germination yet? Happy Growing, Brian.

Hi Dani,
I've seen them go for as long as 5 weeks before anything sprouts. How long have they been sown?
Brian.
