I have had success growing certain Orchid species from seed, by sowing them with Dionaea and Drosera growing in Sphagnum. The first species I had success with was Epidendrum ibaguense, (if that is the binomial the species still goes by) aka "Reed Orchid". The hundreds of resulting plants flowered in 9 months! I have since started many species in the same conditions with less rapid flowering results. Thousands of seed were sown to obtain hundreds of plants. Some other genera that have grown from seed for me are; Brassavola, Bletilla, Bletia, Dendrobium, Habenaria, Phalaenopsis, Phaius, Pogonia, and Spiranthes. All sown with established Drosera and Dionaea, growing in Sphagnum .
What species have you tried Jeff?
Take care, Steven Stewart

Even if you only get 1% to grow from one capsule, you will have many plants!
