Hi folks, now as a change pictures of my plants. Made end of February this year. A tuberous species from down under: An overview of my Drosera whittakeri ssp. whittakeriThe four plants on the upper half belong to the location form "Onkaparinga River". Well, actually they´re even five! The plant at the bottom is the "Talisker National Park" location form. To my surprise the latter has even flowered. Pictures of the flower are on the new film which isn´t yet completed and developed. Some closer views: Drosera roraimae (received from Daniel O. ) Drosera burmannii "Humpty Doo" (Well, could be a little redder! ) I haven´t yet managed to upload all images so far. Maybe next week I´ll post the others. Hope, you have enjoyed the show. Cheers, Andy

Fantastic shots.
I really like those tuberous sundews but I'm just learning to grow them. It's not that easy. What is the humidity level, Andreas?
François.

Allo François! The humidity is only usual room humidity around 55%, sometimes even as low as 45%. Humidity is however rising after the lights have switched off, so the plants have usually a higher humidty during night - mostly around 60%. I don´t think that tuberous sundews necessarily need a high humidity. But certainly they hate our usual room heating. So, if possible I don´t heat at home. All my installed lamps often heat the room enough to receive 18 to 20°C even in the colder seasons. I think apart from high light levels a distinct difference between day and night temperature is important to grow these plants successfully. If it doesn´t freeze outside I keep the windows open all night. So, night temperatures range between 7 and 14°C where I grow my tuberous sundews. If nights are approx. 10°C colder than daytime temps. the plants seem to be happy according to my observations. Erm...now I need to mention the Fahrenheit values for our American friends, needn´t I? Night temp.: 41° - 57°FDay temp.: 59° - 73°FDifference night/day: approx. 18°F Regards, Andreas PS: BTW I guess rosetted tuberous sundew species appreciate cooler temperatures as mentioned above. So far I grow only the two subspecies of D. whittakeri which appear to be fairly tolerant. Species like D. lowriei, D. zonaria, D. browniana aso. maybe don´t like warmer days than 18°C ( 64°F)?
