This one has a large range in North America Very easily grown alongside Sarracenia. I prefer to grow it in live sphagnum.

Hi Fred, This one is one of my favorites and they grow here in Florida, accompanying S. minor and friends in many of my favorite local bogs...They have a great raspberry/honey smell too! ;D Thanks for sharing with us, Brian.

Hello Fred,
Very nice photo! All of your pictures are excellent! Thank you.
While Pogonia ophioglossoides has a wide range, it varies from north to south in the number of flowers that the inflorescence produce. We in Central Florida are fortunate to have the type that usually have 3 flowers per spike. I haven't grown the northern types, but our plants are quite asexually prolific, and can be weedy when grown in with smaller plant species. I don't know how our plants would tolerate long term cold temperatures, but we do get the occasional frost here.
Take care, Steven Stewart

Hi Steve Now you're doing the same as Brian, he says one plant looks similar to another but then doesn't post a pic. We need pics of the Florida three flowered types. I've not had a good drool for a while ;D. As for being prolific, yes they do spread at an excellent rate but I'd never describe them as weedy

I have to tell you a horrid secret about Brian now. He heartlessly weeded a beautiful little innocent, three flowered Pogonia orchid out of his common hybrid Heliamphora heterodoxa x minor I know it is not nice to say things like this about Brian, but someone had to do it ;D. Go ahead Brian censor me if you must. Take care, Steven Stewart

Removal is fine but you said weed Steve. You mean it was discarded? No wonder he's keeping that quiet

OK! I confess! I threw the little bast&&d into the trash can....Hehehehe.. Hey, at the toss of the coin, The Heliamphora definitely deserves the pot to itself. Fred, I have tons of pics I could post but they're all "girlie orchids" You know, harlots and tarts in the trees with their legs spread, remember? hehehe.... Happy Growing! Brian.

Those girlie orchids need a seperate section, don't want them contaminating the terrestrials.
Just to make you feel better Brian.
A 3 flowered Pogonia would fetch about $50 a root here on ebay.uk
